Photogastronomy
As discerning with his photography as he is with his taste buds, Patrick Rougereau has worked alongside many of France’s
most renowned chefs and, in so doing, transformed the discipline of food photography into a fine art in its own right.
Everything inspires him and he creates every aspect of an image meticulously from scratch: “Going into a dark room, creating the light, creating the design, like the painters, who excelled in still life.” Ever since his iconic photo of the truffle soup made by Paul Bocuse in honour of the French President, the leading lights of French cuisine have entrusted him with their image. All find in Patrick Rougereau an artistic and creative mirror, a kindred spirit with whom to share their culinary and aesthetic passion. Certainly, there could not be a tastier way to kick off our Seasonal issue. Now all we need is some Christmas spirit to wash down the superb food!
